When I started using Chinese websites, I was a bit cnfused by their design. Ppular sites like Taba and Jingdng are very “busy” – they are cvered in dzens f links and flashing banners (闪烁的横幅广告). They ften include a wide variety f bright clrs as well, cntrasting (形成对比) with the simple clrs f mst Western websites.
S why are Chinese sites designed this way? Sme say that Chinese web design hasn’t “caught up” t standard Western web design practices. But I dn’t think this quite explains it. Sme Chinese sites, such as Baidu, are quite clean-lking.
A mre believable explanatin has t d with the Chinese language. There are n capital letters r spaces in Chinese writing – speakers f ther languages wh are used t seeing these things might think that Chinese text lks very crwded.
Anther thing that makes Chinese websites lk s busy is the large number f links. Sme sites might have hundreds f links n their frnt page. Again, there is a language-related explanatin.
It is difficult t type Chinese characters n a Rman alphabet-based (基于字母的) keybard. Yu have t type ut each character using pinyin, which can be incnvenient fr sme peple. S it’s easier t just click the link yu want, instead f typing what yu’re lking fr.
Or perhaps it culd just be that smetimes peple prefer flashy, busy websites. Brwsing Jingdng is like stepping int a nisy, brightly-lit street market. S in this way, Chinese internet users might feel right at hme when using these sites.

    七、回答问题
Giving generusly (慷慨地) and receiving gratefully make it easier t live happily with thers.
S why is it hard fr sme peple t d?
Let me start with the idea f giving generusly. I think peple are reluctant (不情愿的) t be generus with thers because they fear being used.
Fr example, my husband and I have family members wh nly cntact us when they need mney. We usually accept their requests (要求), but we rarely receive a “thank yu”. Mst peple wuld say that my husband and I are being used, and I suppsed we are. But when we give, we shuldn’t be giving fr the purpse f getting praise. Rather, we shuld be giving because it’s a gd thing t d. A “thank yu” is merely the icing n the cake.
Everything that we have, frm ur ability t wake up each mrning t the mney in ur bank accunt, is a gift. In return, the wrld asks us t use these gifts t help thers, either by giving them ur time r ur resurces. The gd news is that when we live ur lives being nice t thers, ur lives run mre smthly.
And at the same time, we shuld remember t receive gratefully. I truly believe that yu cannt say “thank yu” enugh.
S ften we get lazy abut expressing gratitude. Parents can feel unappreciated by their children, and teachers can feel unappreciated by their students. Just because a task is part f smene’s jb desn’t mean that yu shuldn’t thank them fr it. Wrds f appreciatin make thers feel gd abut themselves like nthing else.
It’s gd fr us t say “thank yu”because we regularly need t remind urselves f hw lucky we are. And hearing thse tw wrds can make us feel great fr days. If yu are lking fr a secret slutin t imprve yur life, I can give yu ne: Give generusly and receive gratefully.
47.Why might peple nt want t be generus tward thers?
