展开Part 1: 亲情类故事构造“三板斧”
第一板斧:冲突构造(误会、犯错等) 经历了矛盾才能体会亲情的弥足珍贵。产生矛盾的原因大致有:疏于陪伴、理念不合(代沟)、误会等。
1. 我妈妈瞪着我,这是她在我有继子家庭之前从未做过的事。 “你可以捡起来的。”她说。“那才对。”(本可以,虚拟语气)My mther glanced at me. Smething she never did befre I had a stepfamily. “Yu culd have picked it up. ” she said. “That wuld have been the kind thing t d.”2. 他生气地握紧拳头,但是弟弟却激动地挥着手。He flded his fist angrily, but his yunger brther waved his hands excitedly.3. Jacksn试着说什么,但Carter太生气了,他一个字也听不进去。(对比,夸张)Jacksn kept saying smething, but s angry was Carter that he culdn’t even hear a wrd .
我意识到我裙子上的蝴蝶结打得很不好。我本应该请妈妈帮忙的。I realized hw prly I tied the string n my skirt which was ver leggings. I shuld have asked mm fr help.
1.一想到我对他所做的一切,遗憾和内疚就像没休止的潮水一样向我袭来。Thinking abut what I had dne t him, regret and guilt verwhelmed me like endless tides. 2.每当我想到亨利湿了的书,我的脸都会变红了。Whenever I thught f Henry’s wet bk, my face turned red.
看着雪莉的微笑渐渐消失,彼得皱起了眉头。Watching Shirley’s smile fading away, Peter frwned.
当她望过她三岁妹妹的桌子时,Amanda感觉她的心情像天空一样灰暗。(比喻)Amanda felt as gray as the sky utside when she lked acrss the table at her three-year-ld sister.
1.为了掩饰自己的可怕行为,吓坏了的男孩急忙把碎片粘起来,然后把花瓶放回原处。T cver his terrible actin(为了掩盖他糟糕的行为,不定式作状语), the terrified by glued the pieces tgether hastily and put the vase back t its place.2.害怕受到惩罚, 这个突然受到启发的男孩说,邻居家的猫从窗户跳了进来,无论他怎么努力都无法把它赶走。Fearing punishment(害怕惩罚,现在分词作状语), the suddenly inspired by said that a neighbur’s cat jumped in frm the windw and he culdn’t drive it away n matter hw hard he tried.3.犹豫地瞥了一眼巧克力, 男孩在母亲面前羞怯地抬起头来。Glancing at the chclates with hesitatin,(犹豫地看着着巧克力,非谓语), the by timidly raised his head befre his mther.
第二板斧:冲突化解(解释、道歉、弥补、回忆等)
1.“对不起,”他说到,轻轻的摸摸Jacksn的头。“I’m s srry.”he said, gently petting Jacksn’s head.2. 他放下手,小心翼翼的看了Carter 一眼,然后低下了头。(动作链)He put dwn his hand, glanced cautiusly at Carter and lwered his head.3. 令她惊讶的是,她对我微笑,并对我忽视了我的孤独和英语交流的困难表示道歉。T her surprise, she smiled at me and expressed her aplgy fr ignring my lneliness (为她忽略我的孤独道歉)as well as my difficulty with English cmmunicatin.
1. 他妈妈把手指放在他嘴唇让他停止说话,在他额头上吻了一下,然后走出了书房。(动作链)His mther silenced him by gently putting her finger n his lips,gave a sft kiss n his frehead and walked ut f the study.
1. “我想给你一个惊喜!”他指向一个包装精美的盒子,眼里闪烁着光芒。(with结构)“I wanted t surprise yu!” he pinted at a neatly wrapped bx with his eyes gleaming.2.看到他的家人围坐着,和谐地待在一起,卡特感觉到一种幸福感。(ding非谓语)Seeing his families sitting tgether and staying tgether harmniusly, Cater felt a surge f happiness.3.欢快的歌唱飘荡在房间里,两姐妹沉浸在音乐的美中。(独立主格)Cheerful singing flating in the rm, the tw sisters immersed themselves in the beauty f the music.
1. 如果没有亨利的帮助,我就不会顺利地完成我的演出了。But fr Henry’s help, I wuldn’t have finished my perfrmance smthly. 2. I lked at her, tears f lve and gratitude welling(well) up in my eyes. 我看着她,眼里涌出了爱与感激的泪水(独立主格结构)3.之后,轮到我做了一个小演讲,在演讲中我向我的妈妈和朋友们表达了我真诚的感谢,向他们鞠了几个躬。Afterwards, it was my turn t give a small lecture,in which I expressed my sincere gratitude t my mm and friends, bwing(bw) t them several times. (定语从句,非谓语)
1. 在这时,毫无预料地,Carter突然想起Billy躺在地上哭的回忆,一直在他脑海回旋,提醒着他一些事情。(无灵主语句;ding非谓语;and连接两个同时进行的动作)At that mment, unexpectedly, the memry f the sight f Billy crying n the grund ccurred t Carter, hvering in his mind and reminding him smething .2.看着Jacksn,Carter忍不住想象他的弟弟花整天小心涂好那辆车的情景。Lking at Jacksn, Carter culdn’t help imagining his little brther spending the whle day carefully painting the car.3. “我只是希望我知道如何帮助她,”阿曼达想着李惊恐的眼睛,自言自语道“I just wish I knew hw t help her,” Amanda said t herself, thinking f Li’s frightened eyes(想到Li害怕的双眼).
第三板斧:亲情升华(诚实、珍惜等)
1.从那时起,每当他想撒谎时,这三块巧克力就会在他心中敲响警钟,提醒他要诚实。Frm then n, the three chclates rang the alarm in his heart every time he intended t lie, reminding him t be hnest提醒他要诚实(非谓语).2. 我坚定地点了点头,知道一朵仁慈和友谊之花开始在我们两个人的心里绽放。I ndded firmly, knwing a flwer f kindness and friendship began t blssm(善良和友谊之花开放) in bth f ur hearts.
3.这次经历改变了我对亨利的态度,从那时起我们的关系变得很融洽、和谐 。This experience transfrmed my attitude twards Henry and ur relatinship has als been harmnius(我们的关系变得和谐) since then.4. 正是亨利的善良让我感受到了我们家庭的温暖。我会用心珍惜它的。It was Henry’s kindness that made me feel the warmth frm ur family. I will treasure it with all my heart.
读后续写:情感描写速记法(下)
情感描写速记法,这是第二次课,将分享最后三个秘诀。上节课我提到四个秘诀,还记得吗?分别是“情感是对手,人手,压迫者和动物”,就是把情绪与“有生命”东西联系起来了。那么今天的课程中,会把情感比喻成什么呢?
秘诀(五):情感是光线
有人说:“积极的心态像太阳,照到哪里哪里亮;消极的心态像月亮,初一十五不一样。”所以说,情感和光线变化密切相关。我们也有这种生活体验在sunny (晴朗) 的天气,人们会感到开朗高兴,情感像光一样散发(radiate)与传播(spread acrss),而在cludy (阴云密布)或者dark (光线晦暗)则让人心情阻塞、郁闷不快。例如:
(1)Jy shne frm his brw.他喜上眉梢。(2)Happiness radiates frm her face. 荣光换发。(radiate发散,发光)(3)Smile spread acrss his face. 他满脸笑容。当然还有用“人或物”作主语的(4)She has been in a dark md this week.她这周心情一直不好。( a dark md 用黑暗来形容心情md,当然是“心情不好”。)(5)His face cluded ver when he heard the news.听了这个消息,他满脸愁云。(这个句子把云clud这个名词当做动词用,ver覆盖,clud ver这个词组把“乌云密布”这种形象就表现出来了)
秘诀(六):情感是重担
在中文中,我们有时候说某种负面情绪的时候,可以这么表达“很压抑,压得我喘不过气来”,这里的“压”显示出,在描写情感时候,赋予它重量感。英文也是如此:忧虑 、悲伤、愤怒等消极情感犹如重担bear n (压在⋯上面),需要人们carry(承受), 而这些情感负担的unburden(卸去)、lse(失去)则会让人感到轻松、获得解脱。例如:
(1)Grief bears heavily n her.她承受着悲伤的巨大压力。还有以“人”作主语的:(2)He was burdened with wrries 他心事重重。(burden装在,负重。非常有意思是,在汉语中,“心事重重”中的“重”是一个多音字,也读zhng,“负重”的“重”。)(3)The manager carried his anger.经理怒火冲冲。
(4)After I lst my temper,I felt lighter.发脾气之后,我感到轻松多了。( lst my temper字面意思好像是“失去了脾气”,其实就是情绪失控,发脾气)(5)Unburdening herself f her anger gave her a sense f relief.释放了怒火后,她感到一种解脱。(第二个例子中提到了burden装在,负重,加上了否定前缀un,意思为“卸去负担”)
秘诀(七):情感是液体
在汉语中,如果用一个成语来形容两个人感情很好,我们可以用“水乳交融”,水和乳都是液体。同样的道理,在英语中,情感也常常被比作液体。常见的名词有:波纹(ripple)或wave(波浪)或fld (洪流),常见的动词有:涌出(well up),surge(涌动 )甚至sweep (冲;卷 ),有时fill/brim/take pssessin f (注满/盛满 / 占满 )容器,有时verflw/well(漫出/溢出)容器,在高温下甚至会bil(沸腾) .
Panic surged up within him .他惶恐不安。(surge涌起,字面的意思是“恐惧在他身体里涌起”)The terrible scene filled her with fear.恐怖的场景使她十分害怕。A wave f panic swept ver her.一阵惊恐袭上她的心头。The lneliness and grief cmes in waves. 阵阵孤独与痛苦袭上心头。
当然还有用“人”做主语的:(1)His heart is verflwing with jy.他满怀喜悦。(2)I culd feel anger biling up inside me.我感到怒火中烧。(字面意思是:“愤怒”已经“bil沸腾了”)(3)He was brimming with srrw when she left him .她离开他时,他满怀悲伤。(brim是“边缘”的意思,作动词表示“溢出”。悲伤这种情绪从内心溢出来了。)
现在我们把学到的表达用到作文中,我们用的是2020年新高考全国卷,即山东卷。讲述的是:卖爆米花方法救助穷人的故事。
【情境一】Mrs. Meredith 听了孩子们“卖爆米花”的主意之后,感到很满意,为孩子们的善良机智而骄傲。我们可以这样写:A wave f satisfactin and pride surged up inside Mrs. Meredith as Jhn explained his idea.当约翰解释他的想法时,梅雷迪思太太心中涌起了一股满足感和自豪感。(这句话就把骄傲与满足之感比喻成液体)
【情境二】当Jhn 找到贫困小男孩Bernard,并向他说了帮助他赚钱的主意之后,Bernard十分感动。After Bernard learned abut Jhn’s idea, gratitude bviusly gt the better f this pr by, and mistened his eyes.在伯纳得知约翰的想法后,非常感动,他的眼睛湿润了。(这句话里,把感激比喻成对手,Bernard忍不住感动而流泪。)
