There are times in life when we dn’t have the energy t get thrugh ur prblems r the strength t push ahead. That’s when ur friends carry us. They remind us that we are nt alne — they stand with and cmfrt us. Even when sme friends dn’t always knw hw best t help, they want t be there fr us.
Authr Parker J. Palmer in his bk, Let Yur Life Speak, shares abut the time he was battling depressin（抑郁）. He recalls that sme peple wh visited him tried t cheer him up. “It’s a beautiful day. The frgs’ ability t sense the earthquake is nt fully understd, but 96 percent f male frgs escaped and returned a day after the danger had passed. This discvery baffled Dr. Rachel Grant, wh hadn’t set ut t learn abut frgs’ reactins t earthquakes, but t study the effect f the lunar cycle n them. She nw believes that frgs may be able t sense sme signs and use them as an early-warning system fr earthquakes.
Frgs are nt the nly creatures brn with an unusual pwer t predict natural disasters. In 2004, elephants in Thailand made lud nises befre the tsunami hit, while bats in Sri Lanka flew arund in anxiety befre the disaster.
