Hwever, it has spread thrugh Eurpe since 2007 and has becme ne f the largest pests in Mediterranean regins, threatening fd supplies. Experts arund the wrld are currently struggling with new ways t battle the mth, but it has develped resistance t pesticides (杀虫剂), leaving farmers helpless t stp the damage. A new study frm the University f Prtsmuth has shwn that the answer may lie in the trpical tent web spider.
Scientists carried ut labratry tests and fund that the spiders banded tgether t frm webs that easily caught the flying insects, which they then ate. Dr Lena Grinsted, the lead authr f the study, said, “The trpical tent web spiders perate in large grups and can create giant jined-up webs capable f catching insects in the air. This culd ptentially lead t a reductin f reliance n chemical pesticides, resulting in less pllutin in sils, waterways and fd chains in the future.”
Crp damage is als caused by the larvae (幼虫), which directly attack the tmat fruit, making the crp ugly and thus unmarketable. Larvae live inside the leaf until they begin the prcess f turning int a mth, making them difficult t cntrl. Hwever, scientists expect that targeting the adult mth ppulatin will reduce the number f eggs being laid. In additin, the spiders build the biggest webs during the summer, which can benefit the tmat planting and grwing seasn in May and June.

A recent study in Japan has revealed that a wearable sft rbt, named Relieb, can imprve the experience f patients in medical treatments, such as injectins (注射) and ther unpleasant therapies. The study, led by researchers at the University f Tsukuba, was inspired in part by the numerus needles peple had t endure while being vaccinated (接种疫苗) against COVID-19. The rbt is sft and cvered in fur. It cntains small airbags internally that inflate (膨胀) in respnse t hand mvement. Participants in the study wh wre the rbt while subjected t a medium heat stimulatin, experienced less pain in the test than thse wh did nt wear the rbt. The test prved that the pain and anxiety being felt culd be reduced sharply by lessening the experience f pain thrugh using the rbt.
The research team checked the effectiveness f the wearable rbt while being handled by participants under certain cnditins, based n the clenching (攥紧) f the hand. First, I wrked mstly n cars and vehicles, but after getting bred f my twn and lnging fr adventure I decided that I wanted t try smething new. I decided t apply fr a psitin as a mechanic n a ship.
It was a big change, but I was excited. I learnt a lt abut the different systems n the ship and hw t keep them running. It was a challenge and s different frm befre, I struggled at first but I enjyed it nce I gt used t it. I felt a great sense f satisfactin when I fixed things.
The crew were all very helpful and it was a great experience. I travelled all ver the wrld and saw sme amazing places. I cmpleted my wrk and travelled. I learnt a lt abut the different cultures and was able t use the skills I learnt in my training. Eventually, I returned t my cuntry and started my wn repair shp.
