Yeva Klingbeil’s high school track career was cut suddenly when she was diagnosed (诊断) with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of cancer that affects muscle tissue. Klingbeil, 18, had to go through months of chemotherapy (化疗) and radiation treatments after her diagnosis, which left her too weak to compete.
The COVID-19 left Klingbeil away from her teammates as school went virtual and track meets were canceled. She faced another challenge recently when doctors discovered her cancer had returned, leading to more chemotherapy.
Despite the challenges, Klingbeil’s track coach, Rob Cloutier, reached out to her to see if she would like to join her teammates in a tradition in which seniors run the 4x100 race at the last home track meet of the season. “I told her to run the anchor leg, which is the final leg of the race,” said Cloutier. “I wanted her to be able to do it one last time.”
Hearing the news, Klingbeil was excited. Meanwhile, Klingbeil was just starting to walk again after using a wheelchair due to complications (并发症) from chemotherapy, but she was committed to running her high school track one last time with her teammates.
Klingbeil had a chemotherapy treatment on the day of the last track meet, May 24, and then put on her team uniform for the first time in over a year. When it was her turn, her three race teammates came to her side and walked the track with her. The entire Shen High School track team also walked along with Klingbeil from the field and then rushed and cheered for her when she crossed the finish line. “That was a great surprise,” Klingbeil said, “I feel accomplished because crossing the line was a perfect end of my high school track career.”
Cloutier said he had watched Klingbeil go through her cancer battle with that same level of determination, saying “She’s worked through this challenge in her life without a single complaint and with a smile on her face. Everyone who has witnessed her can learn a little bit from that.”
4.Why couldn’t Klingbeil continue her track career?
A.She hurt her muscle badly. B.She must focus on her study.
C.She had little time for running. D.She suffered from a severe disease.5.What did Klingbeil’s coach do for her track career?

A.She had a treatment after it. B.She didn’t make it to the finish line.
C.She had a sense of achievement after it. D.She walked the track with all her teammates.7.Which of the following can best describe Klingbeil?

More than 100 streets in New York City’s five boroughs (行政区) will go car-free to celebrate Earth Day. For the fifth year in a row, the city will mark the occasion by closing streets to vehicles, according to a news release from the NYC Department of Transportation. The closings will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, the day after Earth Day is observed around the world.
“Earth Day is when we can all devote ourselves to protecting our Earth and one way we can do that is by repurposing our roadways,” said Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez, according to the release. “Car-Free Earth Day is a growing tradition that allows New York City’s car-free streets to come alive,” said Rodriguez.
During the celebration, usually busy streets will be used for a variety of public programs including music, dance, art, biking and education, according to the transportation department. Twenty-two public plazas and over 1,000 miles of bike network will be accessible.
In New York City, motor vehicles release 28% of the total emissions of nitrogen oxide, which can cause acid rain and contribute to pollution, according to the city’s Department of Environmental Protection.
Steps have been taken to limit the environmental impact of motor vehicles. In 2021, Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation (法规) setting a goal for all new passenger cars and trucks sold in New York to be zero-emissions by 2035.
“When we open streets to pedestrians (行人) and cyclists, they become community spaces for our neighborhoods and a benefit to our local small businesses,” said New York City Public Advocate Jumaane D.Williams, according to the new release. “I’m glad this program has already experienced so much success, and I hope that this initiative grows to include more spaces, especially in our outer boroughs.”
8.When did New York begin to close streets to vehicles to celebrate Earth Day?
    A.In 2017.
    B.In 2018.
    C.In 2019.
D.In 2020.9.What can we learn about Car-free Earth Day?

C.It makes New York’s car-free streets come to life.
D.All the public plazas will be used for public programs.10.What’s Jumaane Williams’s attitude towards the initiative?
    A.Negative.
    B.Pessimistic.
    C.Concerned.
D.Positive.11.What does the text mainly talk about?
A.New York will take an initiative to protect the Earth.

C.How to celebrate Earth Day in New York City’s boroughs.
D.How to limit the environmental impact of motor vehicles.

Most people think that phones are a bad thing for anxiety. Parents, in particular, believe phones are terrible for the mental health of children. So, what is the truth? While I was writing my book You Don’t Understand Me, which addresses the mental health of teenage girls and young women, I felt I had to get to the bottom of the relationship between phones and anxiety. And to be honest, it doesn’t look great.
What I have observed clinically is that rather than being the cause of the problem, phones seem to act as a catalyst (催化剂) to our emotions. This can be a positive thing, when it allows us to connect with friends and family and share happy things. However, humans are born to foresee danger and our minds can quickly react from an initial trigger to create catastrophic (极糟的) but wholly imaginary circumstances, which our bodies respond to as though they were true. So some of the questions I ask my patients about their phone use are: Are you using your phone to connect to people or to compare to people? The former is positive for mental health but the latter will likely increase anxiety.
Research suggests that there may be a sweet spot with mobile phone use, after which the screen stops being helpful or fun and starts having a negative impact on wellbeing. An analogy (类比) to drinking is helpful: a couple of glasses of red wine can be relaxing; a bottle a night is not so helpful. And like with drinking, some people find it difficult to stop just at the point when they should.
So if you are experiencing anxiety, think about your phone use — think about how much time you spend on it and on what kind of content. Readdressing this might be one important key in unlocking a less anxious life.
12.What’s the theme of You Don’t Understand Me?
A.The mental health of young females.
B.The useful ways to understand others.
C.The misunderstanding of the phone using.
D.The relationship between phones and anxiety.13.How will our minds respond when we receive something negative?
    A.They’ll imagine very bad situations.
    B.They’ll predict some true reactions.
C.They’ll turn negative things into reality.
D.They’ll turn negative things into positive ones.14.Why does the author mention drinking wine?
A.To express its benefit to health.
    B.To stress the addictive nature.
C.To illustrate the sweet spot of using phones.
D.To explain the importance of drinking wine.15.How can we reduce our anxiety according to the text?
A.By changing our ways of thinking.
B.By drinking a couple of glasses of red wine.
C.By reading more books about reducing anxiety.
D.By adjusting the time and content of phone using.

Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. The park was full of freshness and beautiful of spring, with the sun shining and birds sing. When I was enjoying the fantastic scenery around, something unpleasant caught their eyes. A young couple in a boat was eating, talking and laughing loudly as if they were the only people in the world. Which is worse, they spat and even threw rubbish into the lake, total ignoring the noticeable sign “No Littering” nearby. What shame!
Such behavior leaves me deep in thought. If all visitors to the Fairy Lake Park do as the couple did so, the lake will be severely polluted or soon turned into a huge dustbin.

    2.邀请对方担任评委的理由;
    3.期待对方的回复。
    注意:1.词数100左右;
    2.可适当增加内容,以使行文连贯。

    【分析】这是一篇说明文。在户外呼吸新鲜空气和锻炼身体来获得精神和身体上的好处,但有时这并不容易。文章主要介绍了通过收集自然里的东西的办法,来多待在户外。
    41.考查连词。句意:花时间在户外从来没有这么重要过,因为只有在户外,你才能体验不同的场景,或者通过新鲜空气和锻炼身体来获得精神和身体上的好处。根据前后文语境,“花时间在户外从来没有这么重要过”与后文“因为只有在户外,你才能体验不同的场景,或者通过新鲜空气和锻炼身体来获得精神和身体上的好处”构成并列关系,应用连词and。故填and。
根据上文“It's not always easy to be”可知应填形容词motivated,作表语。故填motivated。
故填to stop。
结合句意表示“多花点力气做某事”可知短语为make an extra effort to do sth.。故填an。
故填using。
可知句型为when it comes to doing sth.。故填comes。
短语为from…to…。故填to。
故填which。

故将their改为my。
故将was改为were。
故将Which改为What。
故在what后加上a。
“像某人做的那样做”的表达为“do as sb. do/did”,因此so是多余的成分。故去掉so。
故将or改成and。
