Fuluping Primary School is 50 kilometers away from downtown Yiyuan county. It was once among the schools with the worst conditions in the county. But the school has its own beautiful and comfortable playground now.

Ren works hard on teaching and taking care of her students. She also spends a part of her money helping two poor students. She received the China Youth May 4th Medal-the country's top honor for excellent young people.

“Life was not easy for me, but luckily I had nice people around me. They gave me a helping hand when I was in need, and it encouraged me to go on,”says Ren.

Every year on March 5,China celebrates “Lei Feng Day”. It's a day to encourage community service and volunteering.

Zhu Keming never thought he would be a hero one day, but he was just that on Saturday when he saved the lives of six runners during the mountain marathon(马拉松)in Baiyin, Gansu Province, in which 21 people lost their lives.

It started off as a normal day for the 49-year-old shepherd, who was taking care of his more than 30 sheep on the mountainside. But soon the weather was terrible, with rainfall and hail. Automatic(自动的)doors, barrier-free(无障碍的)seats and bathrooms, Braille signage(盲文标志)and audio(语音的)services for visually impaired(视力受损的)athletes-Beijing worked hard to provide Paralympic athletes with an all-round barrier-free environment.

From March 4 to 13, around 600 Paralympians from 46 countries and regions(地区) competed in 78 events of six ice and snow sports in the Games. China sent its largest ever team, including 68 male and 28 female athletes. They brought home the most medals(奖牌)in the country's Winter Paralympics history.
