When Jeromiewhalen's brother finished theAppalachian Trail,he had no idea that his adventure wasn't quite over. One of the friends he'd made along the way had recently turned 83. In order to celebrate his birthday, he invited the man over. We've all been there. One minute you're searching for something serious， like a recipe（食谱） for dinner， or something for work， and thenext you've been sucked in by endless videos of cats doing funny things after seeing an attractive title in your suggested videos column（专栏）. First，let's talk about stereotypes（成见）. When many of us think about dogs，we imagine them rolling over onto their backs, tongues hanging out, or making a mess. They seem trusting and innocent（单纯的）——and they do silly things. Cats， on the other hand， seem somewhat more controlled and independent.There's a reason why we have an expression "cool cat". In short, cats seem more serious—and clever. If we can put one over on a cat and make them do something like getting in a box that slides down a hill,it's funny.But with a dog,it's not as funny because they trust you-and it's easier. Tricking a cat, due to their wiliness（狡猾），has more payoff.
The Internet is filled with videos of cats making funny faces or reacting strangely. But why are they so funny? Well, simply—it's unexpected. If you saw a cat walking down the street coolly or observing and preparing to attack a mouse, it wouldn't be funny. But if that cat was walking sideways,wearing a silly costume,or becoming best friends with the mouse, suddenly we might start to laugh. Watching acat that is normally impressive walk carelessly or pull a face is funny because it's not something we would normally connect with that animal. It's like watching someone who is normally very serious laugh loudly.
So the next time you see one of those funny behaviours of cats in awkward situations or videos that make you laugh,try to remember why it's so funny. And spare a thought for all those dogs that are trying to give us pleasure too.

They later discovered that the back part ofit was injured. The head of her femur（股骨）was broken and died—meaning the death ofcells in some part of the body—had set in, so Hazel would need surgery to get better. SPCAstaff put out a call to the community to raise funds for it, and that's when Sutter got to work. Sutter thought up a good idea: making use of the power of cinnamon buns（肉桂面包）. He knew if there was anything that could get community members to empty their pockets,it would be this sweet treat:cinnamon buns.
He and his mum,Leslie Rowse,got to workbaking, and his mum posted about Sutter's efforts on a social media page for his local community. Around 15 dozen (or 180) cinnamon buns later,Sutter had raised $850.His mum dropped off the money at the shelter, and Hazel was able to start her surgeries.
