根据第一段“In 2016, Wanda Dench was trying t let her grandkids knw abut the family's upcming plans fr the hliday and tried t send a text message t her grandsn. But Jamal Hintn, wh was a 17-year-ld high schl student and cmplete stranger t Dench at the time, received the text instead. They were strangers. / Strangers.
根据第二段的最后一句“Dench replied, “Of curse yu can. That’s what grandmas everyne.”(丹奇回答说:“你当然可以。 Still jin their family’s Thanksgiving.
根据第五段“Dench and Hintn thught abut the risks f hlding a Thanksgiving celebratin amid the pandemic (疫情期间), weighing if they culd figure ut a way t get tgether the day befre gathering with their wn individual families. But, they eventually cncluded the risk was t high.(丹齐和辛顿想举行感恩节庆典,在疫情期间,他们考虑是否能找到一个办法在与各自家人聚会的前一天能够聚在一起。但是,他们最终得出的结论是,风险太高了)”及第六段的首句“In hnr f Lnnie, the friends instead held a small gathering n Friday.(为了纪念朗尼,朋友们在周五举行了一个小型聚会)”及尾句“The event was a sharp cntrast frm the larger celebratins f years past.(此次活动与以往的大型庆祝活动形成了鲜明对比)”可知,此次感恩节活动与以往活动形成鲜明对比的原因是在疫情期间举行活动风险太高了。 Because the risk f hlding a Thanksgiving celebratin amid the pandemic was t high.
根据第四段的第二句“He died frm the crnavirus this spring.(今年春天,他死于冠状病毒)”及倒数第二段“T hnr Lnnie, an empty seat and lit candle were placed at the head f the table. The belved husband wuld always say grace befre the hliday meal, s this year, Dench led the prayer.(为了向朗尼表示敬意,在桌子的上首放置了一个空位子和点燃的蜡烛。 Because Lnnie was dead.
及第三段“Hintn shared the sweet cnversatin n scial media and the stry quickly went viral (疯传). They have celebrated Thanksgiving tgether every year since, always snapping phts and taking vides, much t the delight f many fllwing their stry.(辛顿在社交媒体上分享了这段甜蜜的对话,这个故事迅速走红。 Open. (I think their stry is fantastic. Because ne wrng text message brught strangers tgether and kept them tgether fr years, which is incredible.)
六、1.It has a large ppulatin and inadequate medical facilities.
Or: It has a large ppulatin and lacks medical care.

根据第二段“Bubacar grew up in a small twn in suth-central Mali, a cuntry in West Africa, which finds it challenging t prvide affrdable healthcare t its 19 millin peple.( Bubacar在马里中南部的一个小镇长大。 It has a large ppulatin and inadequate medical facilities. Or: It has a large ppulatin and lacks medical care.
根据第四段“Since TCM is als related t Chinese histry and culture, students have t study ancient Chinese literature as mst f the medical texts were written in ancient Chinese characters. “That’s a subject even the Chinese find difficult; s think f me, a freigner!” he said(由于中医也与中国的历史和文化有关,学生必须学习中国古代文学,因为大多数医学文献都是用古代汉字写的。 The hardships Bubacar encuntered while studying TCM at university. Or: He encuntered many challenges when studying TCM at university.
根据第五段“What inspired him t cntinue were the similarities between TCM and traditinal African medicine(激励他继续学习的是TCM和非洲传统医学之间的相似性)”可知,TCM与非洲传统医学之间的相似性激励了他继续学习。 (That)the similarities between TCM and traditinal.
根据最后一段“If they learn TCM, they will be able t treat peple in Africa in a very cheap and effective way(如果他们学习TCM,他们将能够以一种非常廉价和有效的方式治疗非洲人)”可知,Bubacar想让非洲人学习TCM是为了,让他们能够以廉价且有效的方式治疗非洲人。 T treat peple in Africa cheaply and effectively. Or: T treat African patients cheaply and effectively.
根据第八段“Besides his wrk in a private hspital, Bubacar has als been helping patients in remte villages in Sichuan and Yunnan prvinces. A majr part f his wrk was treating leprsy 他的工作是治疗麻风病患者)”,以及“I want t build nt nly a hspital but als an educatinal center where peple can cme and learn abut Chinese medicine,” he said. After 10 years, his dream is becming a reality(我不仅想建一所医院,还想建一个教育中心,人们可以来这里学习中医。 I think his wrk is meaningful and wrthwhile, because he uses what he has learned in China t help mre patients.
