    1. 2022届山东省泰安市高三一模】阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

I've lived in this neighborhood for years, but I still remember the first person I met when I moved here, and she was Linda pho had black wavy hair, big naughty eyes and a smile on her face all the time. I think she was about ten when I first met her.

She was very fond of trees and spent all her spare time collecting leaves and sticking them on a brochure. She remembered exactly where she had picked up a particular leaf, on which day and whether it was a sunny, windy or rainy day. Because I was interested in seeing what she had collected, I was her best friend or sister, Belle.

Later, Linda went to a boarding school outside the town. She would come home only during vacations. That is to say, we couldn't see each other as often as we used to. But we would make full use of every opportunity to visit the small forest near our home to collect her favorite leaves, and meanwhile, I could listen to her wonderful descriptions of the trees.

You must be wondering why I am talking about Linda. You see, something fantastic happened last week. I was standing on the balcony looking at the budding blossoms of the trees. As usual, I remembered Linda whom I had not seen for many years. Two years ago, I got some information from an old neighbor about Linda. She had settled down in France and had a daughter. I wondered whether she still stuck to her hobby of collecting leaves. I was so lost in thought that I did not hear that the doorbell rang at first. Then it rang again and again. Two short rings, one long ring and two short rings. Suddenly it dawned on me that it was how Linda used to ring the bell. I ran to the door.

    注意:

    1.写作词数应为150左右;

    2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    【答案】Paragraph 1:

I opened the door and found Linda standing there. The girl was with the same black wavy hair, the same big naughty eyesand the same smile, and she held two brochures in her arms. She was about the same age when I had met Linda the first time. She couldn't be Linda! I remembered that I had learned from my neighbor that Linda had a daughter who looked so much like her. I was sure the girl was her daughter.

    Paragraph 1:

" Hello, Belle! I 'm Amy, Linda 's daughter ". What a wonderful surprise! Then Amy called out to someone hiding behind a tree, "Come out now. We have succeeded in surprising her"! Here came Linda. You cannot imagine the excitement we felt when we saw each other after so many years. That afternoon, the three of us went for a walk in the forest, collecting different leaves and enjoying the pleasure of friendship and companionship.

When my little brother Tom was four, Mom said something like Id give anything to have a few more hours in the day. And Tom said, Why dont we buy a bigger clock? If time worked that way, I could have used an extra-big clock last week!

Our teacher had asked us to make an art project showing how plants eat, I cant believe we only have two nights to finish it, Noah said with a sigh. I have no idea how Ill get mine done.

I didnt say anything. Not because I was nervousI wasnt nervous at all. 1 love art projects! In fact, I was so relaxed that I didnt work on the project at all on Monday night. I planned to start the minute I got home from baseball practice on Tuesday. But there was just one thing.

I forgot baseball would run later than usual because it was the day of Baseball Buddies, which happens every month, and its a chance for us older students to practise baseball with the adorable younger kids. The second I got home, I threw the entire craft box (手工盒) onto the kitchen table, took out my How Plants Eat paper, and started to work. But just then, the telephone rang.

It was my friend Ollie, who said his grandmother Abuela had just made cookies and wanted to know if Id come help decorate them. I love decorating cookies, and I love, love, love Abuclas world-famous Thanksgiving cookies that only happen once a year!

I had no choice. I had to go. Ollie and I put all the star cookies with red jam filling in one group, and all the snowflakes with white cream-cheese filling in another. Just as I was about to start, Dad said, Joanna, its your turn to do the dishes.

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Looking at the big F on my paper, I started to reflect on what I had done these days.

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

【答案】       Just as I was about to start, Dad said, Joanna, its your turn to do the dishes. What Dad said was a hammer blow to me, leaving me into deeper anxiety. However, that was one of our family rules, so I had to do the dishes reluctantly. The clinking of dishes were disquieting sounds from hell to me, reminding me that the clock was ticking second by second. After I threw the last dish into the cabinet, I rushed into my bedroom, only to find that the hour hand had moved past ten. Without much time left, I finished the assignment in a hurry. The next day, I handed in it nervously.

Looking at the big F on my paper, I started to reflect on what I had done these days. My life seemed in a mess these days, arising from my loose attitude and chaotic schedule. My energy was segmented and occupied by some trivial matters which had nothing to do with my project. Out of guilt, I explained to my teacher and promised this would never happen again. After this experience, I eventually comprehended the importance of time, and began to arrange for my schedule with caution. With confidence, I was firmly convinced that I could get a satisfying score in the next assignment.

    3. 【河北省部分名校2021-2022学年高三下学期3月份联考】阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

It was a cold night in December. Two beggars were sitting on a busy street corner in the downtown section of the city. They watched helplessly as lots of people walked by. Some ignored them on purpose and others were too caught up in their own cares to even notice their existence.

Every so often, a kind-hearted woman or a small child would drop a few coins in the hats which lay in front of them on the icy sidewalk. Some people, feeling particularly generous, would even pull out a bill or two from their wallets and drop them into the beggars hats and then continued their walking.

Just as they were getting ready to leave the street corner, they noticed a man walking toward them. He was obviously a wealthy man. They could tell that from the finely tailored business suit he was wearing.

The first beggar whispered to the second with excitement, Hes coming our way! The two tried not to look directly at the man as he stepped closer to them, but they couldnt help gazing up with expectation as he reached into his pocket and took something out.

Thunk was the only sound they heard as what looked like a piece of hard candy, wrapped doubly in tissue paper, hit each of their waiting hats. The rich man turned and continued on his way, not making a backward glance.

How sickening! said the first beggar, as soon as the rich man was out of sound range. He could have easily left us a few coins or a spare bill, but he tricks us with a piece of hard candy. The beggar picked up the object with the very tips of his fingers and threw it into the gutter(排水沟). He watched as it floated a few yards in the stream of muddy water and disappeared into the drain(下水道)at the end of the street. Then, he gathered up his things and walked away.

    注意:

    1. 续写词数应为150左右;

    2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

So the second beggar changed his mind.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

【答案】       The second beggar looked down at the object in his hat. His first idea was to throw the donation into the dustbin under the street light. But he felt hesitant and started thinking over. He remembered that he hadnt had things like that for ages. He thought the hard candy would stay in his mouth for a long time. He started to feel grateful to that man for offering him something so sweet.

So the second beggar changed his mind. He decided to open the object. He started feeling excited, wondering what the hard candy was made from. He eagerly opened the paper outside, and then continued to open the white tissue paper inside. He couldnt wait to have a look at the hard candy. With that, he unwrapped the white tissue paper, but to his surprise, there was no hard candy inside. Instead, into his fingers fell a shiny jewel worth thousands of dollars. He said to himself, Life is full of surprises. We should find them out through appreciation.

One afternoon after school, Mary and her brother,Keith, were eating at a cafe near their home. That afternoon, they had to share their table with another person. That person was a young lady in her twenties. After eating, she went to the restroom. Without realizing, she had left her handphone on the table. Five minutes later, she came out and walked out of the cafe without looking back.

Mary saw the handphone on the table. She quickly told Keith,Keith, the girl left behind her handphone.

Keith looked at the handphone. It took his breath away. It was one of the latest models on the market. Keith had always wanted a handphone. But his parents had told him, You dont need one. You can always use the house phone.

He stared at it for some minutes. Then he said slowly, pausing on every word,I want to take the handphone.

Mary could not believe her ears. She merely stared at her brother. You cant! What if the owner comes to look for it?

Having made the decision,Keith quickly grabbed the handphone and put it in his schoolbag. Then, he took Marys hand and led her out of the cafe quickly.

Once back home, Keith locked his house door with trembling hands. Inside his room, he took out the piece of beauty. Oh, he liked it so much. Now he had his own handphone. Soon, he was polishing it happily.

But Mary told him, Keith, you cannot keep the handphone. What will you tell Father about this? He will ask you how you got the handphone.

Keith said quickly, I will say a friend lent it to me.

Mary said, Now you are lying too. Oh dear! When had Keith turned so dishonest?

Then Mary saw a house phone number on the plastic cover of the handphone. This is the girls phone number. Why dont we just call this number? We will talk to her and ask her to come and take back her handphone. She was trying to talk some sense into him.

The next morning, after a long and restless night, he was determined to return the handphone to the owner. After school, he told Mary, I am going to phone the owner.

Mary was very happy to hear that. Back home, they phoned the owners house phone. A girl answered the phone. Kevin asked, Are you the owner of the handphone? Im Keith. I have your handphone. Can you come and get it? The girl replied Yes excitedly, expressing her gratitude repeatedly. Ten minutes later, she was at the same cafe to meet Keith. 5. 【江苏省苏州市2021-2022学年高三上学期学业质量阳光指标调研】阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

When I lived in Portland, Oregon, I taught English as a Second Language at a local community college. I had adult students in my class from Vietnam, Mexico, Russia and many other countries. Although they came from many lands, fighting for a better life, they had one thing in common: a desperate yearning (渴望) to learn English well.

Many of the students worked in a factory for twelve hours throughout the night and hurriedly took a bus in the morning straight to our 8:00 AM. class. They attended my class on time whatever the weather. And they waited until after class to go home and sleep. Sometime I would see them struggling to keep their eyes open in the beginning. However, their active participation in class drove away their physical tiredness as well as livened up the atmosphere. Some students even raised a bunch of questions by gesture after class. They were always there working hard, earnest and eager to learn.

Despite their lack of sleep and long hours at work, the level of attendance and attentiveness in class was always excellent. No one called in sick. No one was absent-minded. Some of the students had as many as three jobs and took the bus everywhere they went because they couldnt afford cars.

To teach the course, I needed to use a lot of pictures and hand gestures, since I didnt know all their respective languages. One of the things I taught was a simple dialogue called Shopping for a New Coat. They enjoyed standing up and acting out the gestures that accompanied the text of the story.

Sometimes I wondered if I was really teaching my students in the best way possible. But I gave my all to this class, and they gave their all to me. If nothing else, they would always remember what to say if they ever went shopping for a new coat. Soon, the language course came to an end.

    注意:1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;

    2.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。

On the last day of class, they threw a wonderful party that was filled with good food and laughter.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I lifted from the box a beautiful, new, full-length coat.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

【答案】   On the last day of class, they threw a wonderful party that was filled with good food and laughter. I was amazed that they had learned enough English to even coordinate such an event with each other. The food was delicious, with wonderful dishes from over ten different countries. Then, Alexander from Hungary, one of the most outgoing members of the class, called everyones attention before he proudly handed me a large, neatly wrapped if box. After the ribbon was untied and the top was off, I gently pulled back the wrapping paper.

I lifted from the box a beautiful, new, full-length coat. We went shopping for a new coat! they all exclaimed in wonderfully perfect English. These were people who lived in small apartments, sent money back to families in their home countries and barely could make ends meet. I was simply doing my job, teaching English, and their gratitude was beyond the bounds of what I ever could possibly have expected. I wear the coat they gave me with pride and gratitude; its my favorite. Every time I wear the coat, I think fondly of themall of them and their desire and struggle to start a new life in America.
