第一课时: New words
Teaching and learning Goals:
Learn the new words of Unit4 ,“rule、hall、dish 、luck …” .Try to spell the words in this unit without looking books. Learn how to read and remember the words and phrases by using all kinds of ways. Let students learn to express the rules.
Teaching and learning steps:
Step 1Play a short video ofFight back to school (逃学威龙)
T: Is he a good student?
Ss: No.
T: Do you want to be good students?
Ss: Yes.
T: What can we do and What can’t we do?
This class we will learn the words of rules.
Show the word rule on the blackboard.
rule[ru:l] n.规则,规章
(良好的开端是成功的一半。电影《逃学威龙》很符合学生的口味,用它来开头,能充分调动学生学习的兴趣,并引出本节课要学的有关rule的单词。)
Step 2: Read the words of Unit4 on P123-124.
1. Students try to read the words using the phonetics by themselves. Mark the words they can’t read correctly.
2. Read the new words in your groups, correct your pronunciations each other.
The students can discuss the difficult words with the students in their group.
3. Get some individual students to read and correct their pronunciations.
Correct the words that students always pronounce incorrectly, such ashair、 arrive、remember、important 、quiet、 more、 noisy、terrible 、strict.
4. Listen to the tape and read after it for two times.
Leave students enough time then have a competition. (Who can read more words correctly?)
(设计意图:首先学生根据音标自读单词,并标出试读时有困难的单词,训练学生利用音标 读单词的能力,培养学生自主学习的能力。然后,以小组为单位培养学生合作学习的能力。先让学生之间彼此纠正发音,再找单个同学读单词,教师及时纠正发音。最后让学生跟着录音读。 通过这几个环节,重点培养学生的合作意识,使大部分学生都能达到预定目标。)
Step 3:Learn to remember wordsof Unit4 on P123-124.
一. Remember the words by looking at pictures.
(让学生先学单词,再学短语,最后造句,层层递进,把新单词在直观的图片面前一一呈现,在视觉的冲击下加深印象,达到掌握的目的。)
T: In school, we must follow the rules.
Don’t arrive late for class.
You must be on time.
Don’t eat in class.
You can eat in the dining hall.
Don’t run in the hallways
.
Don’t listen to music in class.
You can listen outide
Don’t fight.
(设计意图:该环节涉及的单词都配上了直观的图片,学生会更加容易理解和接受。并且,每个单词都紧贴课本加以应用,这样学生下一步学习课文会更容易,而且让学生学习了在语境中理解单词、记忆单词,而不是把单词孤立。)
二. Remember the words according to their similar pronunciations. (音标记忆法)

(在黑板上写出以上单词,让学生自己总结发音规律, 寻找记单词的方法。训练学生不看音标也能读单词的能力。)
三.Remember the words by conversion(转换) 、complex words (合成)and derivative(派生)
1. hallway: hall(大厅)+ way(道路)
outside: out(外面的)+ side(边,面)
2. luck: luck—lucky
dirty: dirt—dirty
3. quiet: quiet --- quietly 形容词+ly副词
4. noisy adj.---- noise n.
5. important adj. ---- importance n.
四、Remember the phrases by matching itself with its meaning.
1.do the dishes遵守规则
2. go out整理床铺
3. listen to music迟到
4. on time 对…要求严格
5. make one’s bed洗盘子
6. be strict with准时 按时
7. follow the rules 出去
8. arrive late for听音乐
(本部分采用小组之间小组间相互提问模式并连线模式。教师给予回答多且准确率高的小组奖励,以此来激励学生学习的积极性与主动性。)
五. Remember the words by chanting.
Good good students, must must follow the rules.
Don’t arrive late for class. Don’t listen to music in class.
You must be on time. You have to wear a uniform.
Don’t be noisy. Keep quiet in the library.
Learn to make our beds, and clean our hairs.
Don’t fight, or you don’t have good luck..
Remember, remember: be strict is important.
(说唱模式朗朗上口,学生好记也爱记,达到了学生在开心愉快的环境中学习的目的。)
Step 4: Consolidation of words
1. Give the students a few minutes to try to memorize the words first.
2. Students can work in pairs to spell the words. Mark the words they haven’t mastered.
3. Get the students to write down the words on their guide books (助学). If they can’t, go on remembering them after class.
(设计意图:此环节为巩固单词。通过提问或使用助学默写的形式来对单词加以巩固。这一环节有一部分的学生往往不达标,需要利用自习课或课余的时间让小组长跟踪检查,尽量能让每一个学生都过关。)
Step 5: Read the story and understand the meaning of new words:
Get the students to read the story. Try to understand the meaning of the passage. If they need any help, they can discuss in their groups.
Some words from a teacher:
In our school, students have to follow the rules: Don’t arrive late for class. Be on time is very important. Don’t run in the hallways. Don’t eat in class. Students can eat in the dining hall. Don’t fight. Don’t listen to music in class. They can listen outside. On school days, students have to wear the uniforms. And On school nights, students can’t go out. When they read in the library, they must keep quiet . Don’t be noisy. Some students feel terrible about them. They think they’re too strict. I’m very sorry to hear that. Because they’re helpful for them.
What’s more, I hope they can learn to make bed ,do the dishesat home. Don’t leave a dirtykitchen. Don’t keep hair long. Practicing the guitar before go to bed can relax. Remember, these can bring good luck..
Step 6: Mind map思维树
Students can remember key words of this unit and can retell the passage according to the mind map.

(通过随堂练习,巩固了本节课所学的知识。学生也由课堂反馈情况来明确自己的学习状况,调整自己的学习策略。)
Step 8: Homework
1) Remember all the new words by all kinds of ways after class.
2) Preview the unit4 section A.
教学反思: 本节课从《逃学威龙》中的一段短片开始,激起学生的学习兴趣,从而让学生了解什么是不该做的,什么是该做的,引出本节课的关键单词rule。接着用一系列的图片让学生由单词到词组,再到句型,逐步深入地学习并掌握这些单词的用法,使单词的学习不再枯燥乏味。另外,运用图片也达到了直观的效果。然后用音标记忆法、单词转换、合成、派生等各种方法让学生强化记忆,以达到当堂掌握的目的。
亮点:本节课的视频、图片和说唱给人以视觉和听觉上的冲击,让人记忆犹新。故事和思维树的运用也起到了强化记忆的作用。大大地激发了学生的学习热情。
不足之处:有些后进生在课堂上不能完全跟上,课后需要加紧对他们的督促和帮助。
使用建议:要求学生做好课前预习,同时必须准备完善的的多媒体课件,才能有效地提高课堂效率。
